Paper accepted ! AI Research is not Magic, it has to be Reproducible and Responsible: Challenges in the AI field from the Perspective of its PhD Students
Our new paper on the pain points encountered by Ph.D. students in AI has been accepted for publication at the Digital Humanism Conference.

Our new paper about the needs of the AI researchers have been accepted for presentation at the Digital Humanism conference. In this paper, we start from the observation that research needs to be reproducible and responsible, and that Ph.D. students are often the ones taking the burden of reproducibility. We therefore interviewed 28 of them and conducted a qualitative analysis to identify the commonly encountered pain points. We found out that despite many existing initiatives, research in AI still fails to be reproducible. We discuss the impact of this irreproducibility on the field and propose recommendations for institutions and the field in general to facilitate reproducible and responsible AI research.
